4/5/2024 0 Comments Superstor water heater priceDirect fired gas and electric water heaters work at a much higher temperature at the heat transfer surfaces and will create deposits as they heat the water to just 120 to 130 degrees or so, but that is an entirely different subject. Assuming your boiler is running temperatures in the range of maybe 140 to 160 degrees, I don't see that as high enough to create many deposits. Unless you have awfully bad water unusually high in minerals, I doubt you would have much in the way of deposits adhered to the coil. I can imagine bad things happening.Īny experience here? Will this work? Or, is it as dangerous as it sounds to this lay person? Or, are these questions I should be asking on the hot water boiler forum?I have absolutely no experience shocking the heating coil as you describe. He said this would shock the heating coil and possibly break free any lime deposits adhered to the exterior (the potable water side) of the heating coil. I called the manufacturer and the technical services person suggested I might want to drain the tank and then turn the boiler back on an allow the boiler hot water to circulate in the now empty hot water tank heating coil. The SuperStor operating, installation, and service manual makes no mention of maintenance whatsoever.
